Chef: Oliver Dunne
A couple of years ago Dubliner Oliver Dunne, who over a period of three years had put Mint in Ranelagh firmly on the city’s culinary map, decided to strike out on his own. He took over the long-established Bon Appetit restaurant in Malahide and totally transformed it.
Situated in an elegant Georgian terrace close to the sea, Bon Appetit’s elegantly proportioned double dining room simply oozes style, elegance and luxury, and Dunne’s confident and inspired cooking more than matches the surroundings. Dunne only uses the freshest seasonal ingredients, much sourced locally and you’ll find exquisitely presented dishes like roast monkfish tail with a ragout of lentils, honey and mustard chicken leg with a chorizo foam or roast loin of venison with an onion tart tatin, leeks and red wine butter sauce on the menu,
The Michelin men were rightly impressed by this confident, brilliantly creative modern Irish cuisine and within a year of opening fast-tracked the 30 year old Dunne to the quickest Michelin star ever awarded in this country.
